One message in a comment thread: the author's avatar, then their name, when, and the message's actions on one line, and what they said under the name. The comment panel's layout, where a conversation is a handful of lines read over the passage they are about, so there are no bubbles and no sides: every message hangs off its author, the reader's own included. `rest` takes what the host's timeline needs on the row (`id`, `data-timeline-message`, `tabindex`).
